GENERAL ISSUES
APPOINTMENTS SCHEDULING
We will plan the procedure exactly according to your arrival. We will arrange dates during the consultation or by email. It is good to prepare a date when you could come to Brno.
See when the dates for the procedure are commonly available and how optimal it is to plan your procedure.
HOW DOES MENSTRUATION AFFECT ORDERING OPERATIONS?
Laparoscopic procedures can be performed at any time outside of menstruation. Performing the last day of menses doesn't matter.
Hysteroscopic procedures are ideal to perform in the first half of the menstrual cycle, optimally immediately after the end of the cycle. Progestagen can be used continuously to optimally time.
Abortions can be performed at any time, the legal limit is the size of the pregnancy (it is only possible up to 12 weeks of pregnancy). The exact size of the pregnancy is always checked by our doctor by an ultrasound examination before the procedure.
Genital plastic surgery (labioplasty, dam plastic surgery) can be performed at any time outside of menstruation.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE SUPPLIED AS THE MATERIAL FOR CONSULTATION?
It is ideal to send the last professional examination of a gynecologist by e-mail (what is the recommended procedure and why). Ideal for more complex findings is the sending of ultrasound images.
The coordinator will discuss everything with you in detail and send requests to your email.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR TREATMENT?
Either in cash (in CZK or EUR) or by card. We accept the following cards: American Express, MasterCard, VISA, VISA PLUS and Diners Club cards.
Laparoscopy
HOW LONG DOES LAPAROSCOPY TAKE?
The diagnostic laparoscopic procedure lasts about 30-50 minutes. If surgery is performed (resection of cysts, removal of ovaries, etc.), it is extended to 1-2 hours. Discharge after laparoscopic surgery is the next morning.
HOW LONG DOES RECOVERY FROM A LAPAROSCOPIC OPERATION TAKE?
Depending on the extent of your performance, you can probably continue your normal activities for 5-7 days. The removal of sutures from laparoscopic incisions on the abdomen is about 10 days after the operation.
HOW DO YOU FEEL AFTER LAPAROSCOPY?
IIn the days following laparoscopy, you may experience mild pain and throbbing in the areas where the incisions were made. Any pain or discomfort should improve within a few days. You can take common analgesics (painkillers). It is also common for you to have shoulder pain after the procedure (air used in the laparoscopy enters the subcutaneous tissue).
WHAT CAN I NOT DO AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC OPERATION?
It is not appropriate to pull heavy objects, play sports and have more physical effort.
HOW LONG IS IT SUITABLE TO ARRIVE AT THE CLINIC BEFORE THE SURGICAL PROCEDURE?
Admission to the clinic where the operation is performed is at 7:30 in the morning. The day before, you will be examined at the Gynmeda Lidická clinic, where you will receive all instructions and information.
HOW LONG AFTER THE PROCEDURE IS IT SUITABLE TO TRAVEL HOME?
The procedure is performed as a one-day care with us, the release is the next morning after the operation. But it is very convenient to rest for another day or two and travel the next day.
Laparoscopy complications
Although complications after laparoscopy are very rare, the patient should contact their doctor if they bleed excessively or experience symptoms of infection such as convulsions, fever, chills and the like.
Always contact our clinic first so that we can advise you on the situation!
Hysteroscopy
HOW LONG DOES RECOVERY FROM A HYSTEROSCOPIC OPERATION TAKE?
Patients usually feel a slight pressure in the lower abdomen after the operation, but it subsides before leaving the surgery. Also, minor bleeding that does not exceed the rate of menstrual bleeding stops a day or two after hysteroscopy. Weak analgesics (pain medications - eg Paralen tablets, Algifen drops) are usually enough to relieve these pains. It is possible to use them before the procedure and thus ensure the duration of their effect during and after hysteroscopy.
After the procedure, most patients can resume normal activity at work or at home the second day after the procedure. To minimize the risk of inflammation or infection, it is only recommended to shower, skip bathing or swimming pools and use tampons for about a week. Patients who have undergone diagnostic hysteroscopy are advised to avoid sexual intercourse for one to two days after the end of bleeding. After surgical hysteroscopy, the postoperative regimen is extended for up to three weeks, depending on the extent and type of operation performed.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE IVF / ET AFTER HYSTEROSCOPY IN ANOTHER MENSTRATION CYCLE?
Waiting for two or more menstrual cycles after hysteroscopy does not produce better results. Thus, patients can undergo ovarian stimulation immediately after the next menstruation without affecting the results of IVF-ET. Control ultrasound is suitable before IVF.
HOW LONG IS IT SUITABLE TO ARRIVE AT THE CLINIC BEFORE THE SURGICAL PROCEDURE?
All you have to do is come to the Gynmeda clinic 30-60 minutes before the agreed date of the operation.
HOW LONG AFTER THE PROCEDURE IS IT SUITABLE TO TRAVEL HOME?
The procedure is short, lasts 5-15 minutes. You are released from our clinic about 2 hours after the operation. Usually it is not a problem to travel a few hours after the operation. Hysteroscopic procedures are very well tolerated.
Hysteroscopy complications
Hysteroscopy is considered a very safe procedure with minimal complications. There are some possible complications, although they are not common. These include mainly infections and heavy bleeding.
Always contact our clinic first so that we can advise you on how to deal with the situation!
PERFORMANCE COMPLICATIONS
SOLUTION OF COMPLICATIONS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
